UP School
This education technology initiative is dedicated to empowering women as role models in the tech industry. It equips women with technical skills and confidence, enabling them to take firm steps toward their careers.
At the same time, the initiative aims to bridge the gender and skills gap in the technology sector, fostering a more inclusive and diverse workforce.
What is UP School?
According to the 2020 Global Gender Gap Report, Turkey ranks 130th out of 153 countries in terms of gender equality. The report highlights that one of the biggest challenges preventing the closing of the economic gender gap is the underrepresentation of women in leadership roles.
Additionally, TÜİK data shows that while women's employment rate in Turkey stands at 33%, their representation in the technology sector is only 10%. Both in Turkey and globally, there is still a long way to go in increasing women's presence in tech.
UP School empowers women by providing specialized training in software development, helping them unlock their full potential and bridge the gender and skills gap in the tech industry.
What does UP School do?
Graduates of UP School’s intensive training programs gain the skills and confidence to take strong steps in their careers. Through specialized programs in Data Science, Mobile App Development, and Robotic Process Automation, UP School has reached over 300 women so far.
With a 70% employment rate, its graduates now work at leading companies such as Ford Otosan, Türkiye İş Bankası, Hepsiburada, and Coca-Cola İçecek, proving the program’s impact in closing the gender gap in the tech industry.
