What is YGA?

YGA raises young people with two wings that enable us to look to the future with hope. Double wings means being both conscientious enough to design projects for the benefit of all humanity and well-equipped enough to develop radical solutions to problems and break new ground.

The YGA journey begins with the YGA Summit. Every year, over 20 thousand high school and university students apply for the YGA Summit, and 2000 young people selected from carefully evaluated forms spend a day full of inspiration and interaction with biplane scientists, artists, academicians and YGA Dream Partners at the Summit.

After the YGA Summit, 30 volunteers are selected through 3-stage interviews. Bright young people selected for YGA develop while working to bring conscientious science to the most disadvantaged groups.

High school and university volunteers participating in YGA Programs take responsibility in the Science Mobilization project, YGA's social and economic development model.

People who have completed YGA programs mentor volunteers as YGA graduates. They work together on the job in a modern master-apprentice relationship that is not similar to classical mentoring processes. A YGA volunteer takes responsibility for more than 500 hours for 1 year. Volunteers who witness YGA graduate role models and their inspiring stories develop their double wings on the job.

YGA graduates have so far broken new ground in the fields of Equal Opportunity in Education and STEM+A, Women's Development and Employment, and Social and Economic Development of the Visually Impaired.

"I've been rejected three times."

How did Gökhan Meriçliler, who changed the lives of the visually impaired with his WeWalk initiative, turn his story, which started with three rejections from YGA, into a social initiative that received awards around the world?

THE WORLD SCIENCE MOVEMENT

The World Science Movement is a social responsibility initiative launched by YGA to ignite a passion for science in children.

Through this program, cutting-edge Science Kits are delivered to underserved schools across Türkiye, ensuring that students have access to latest technology. As one of YGA’s flagship initiatives, the World Science Movement is designed to drive economic and social development by nurturing young innovators who will pioneer groundbreaking, high-impact solutions. This movement provides bright yet disadvantaged children with the opportunity to engage with technology and science with conscience. These young minds don’t just discover science, they learn to apply it, developing rooted and effective solutions to real-world challenges.
